Introductory Training

Next IntroductoryTraining: October 23–25, 2025

About the Foundational Training:

This training offers a comprehensive introduction to the principles and methods of the Three Pillars of Integrative Attachment Therapy (IAT). Based on a profound, accessible, and practice-oriented teaching of attachment concepts, participants learn a modern, scientifically grounded psychotherapeutic method for resolving attachment insecurity in adulthood. The training focuses on learning and practically applying each of the three pillars: fostering collaborative relational competence, developing metacognitive capacities, and creating secure internal working models through embodied mental imagery (the Ideal Parent Figure Method).

Note: As the Level 1 Online Training is not yet available in German, this year (2025) Introductory Training will fulfill the requirements for participation in further trainings (Level 2 & 3).

Format:

The training consists of a 3-day seminar conducted in German. It is designed to be highly interactive: through numerous small practice sessions, participants directly apply the theoretical knowledge they acquire. This enables a hands-on learning process where core competencies of the method are gradually developed and reinforced.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the therapeutic stance of Integrative Attachment Therapy that enables deep relational work.

  • Identify and support the metacognitive potential of your clients using techniques designed to strengthen these abilities.

  • Learn to integrate mindful awareness practices into therapy to include the body, access implicit memory, and address internal working models of attachment.

  • Co-create immersive, imaginative experiences with your clients in which they encounter new, positive, and transformative attachment experiences with “ideal parent figures.”

  • Use resistance and other therapeutic challenges as tools for healing and integrating dissociated parts of the self.

  • Support your clients’ self-development by transforming false-self patterns through authentic self-exploration and expression.

  • Develop confidence in when and how to apply the Three Pillars of IAT in your psychotherapeutic practice.

Cost:

The participation fee for the training is €850. Accommodation and meals are not included and must be arranged independently as outlined above.
